The Rood Admiral 36 is a fast and seaworthy design by Holman and Pye. This type was developed in the late 70s with serious offshore racing in mind, including the famous 1979 Fastnet Race. Only 22 were built in total.
This vessel combines sporty sailing characteristics with comfort for longer voyages. The Admiral 36 feels at home at sea, but is also perfectly suitable for inland waters and Lake IJsselmeer. Thanks to the deep keel, stable hull, and solid construction, it is a ship that inspires confidence, even when the wind picks up.
The current owner has owned the boat since 1999 and has visibly maintained it well. In recent years, much has been renewed, including a complete refit of the mast and rigging (2017), modern Raymarine equipment, LED navigation lights, and various technical upgrades. The interior is also well-maintained, warmly and practically arranged, featuring a forward cabin, aft cabin, and comfortable saloon.
Everything for serious sailing is on deck: an extensive sail wardrobe, Lewmar winches, spinnaker equipment, and a reliable Volvo Penta diesel engine.
A special ship for someone seeking a true sailor with character, history, and proven seaworthiness.
