More information about the RJ 140
The story of the RJ 140 begins in 1972. A group of Swedish sailors wanted to build a ship that could compete with the then-leading Swan yachts during the famous Gotland Runt. Designer Rolf Jacobsson drew a fast, seaworthy, and elegant yacht, built at Tollare Bruk near Stockholm according to Lloyd's guidelines.
More than fifty years later, the RJ 140 is still a ship that makes an impression. She sails fast, stays on course, and feels at home on both inland waters and long sea voyages.
This RJ 140, SalsaMoreover, it has a remarkable past. The woodcarvings in the cabin, including the beautiful Hanoman statue, are a reminder of a trip to Indonesia and give the ship a unique character.
In recent years, much attention has been paid to maintenance and renewal. For instance, a 2020 Timray engine with an AutoProp folding propeller was installed, the navigation system was updated with Garmin equipment (2022), a new hot air heating system was installed in 2024, and a new genoa was fitted in 2025. The paintwork, teak deck, and upholstery have also been handled with care.
