Van Rijnsoever Vollenhovense Bol "Bolle Babbe" – A timeless classic with character
For enthusiasts of traditional Dutch sailing yachts, we proudly present this beautiful Van Rijnsoever Vollenhovense Bol "Bolle Babbe". This exceptional vessel was built in 2003 and is one of the last Vollenhovense Bollen delivered by the renowned Van Rijnsoever shipyard. With her classic lines, warm appearance, and high-quality finish, she forms a unique combination of authentic craftsmanship and modern sailing comfort.
With a length of 8,50 meters, a beam of 3,10 meters, and a shallow draft of only 0,75 meters, this Vollenhovense Bol is ideally suited for exploring the Dutch and Belgian inland waterways, the Wadden Sea, the waters of Zeeland, and other shallow sailing areas. Thanks to the leeboards and flat bottom, the vessel offers excellent beaching capabilities while simultaneously retaining the characteristic sailing qualities for which this type of ship is so beloved.
On deck, the classic appearance is immediately striking. The combination of the black-painted hull, the red superstructure, and the warm wooden accents creates a particularly beautiful and traditional whole. The wooden mast with gaff rigging and the dark sails reinforce the authentic character of the ship. Furthermore, the sail wardrobe was renewed in 2023 with a new mainsail, storm jib, staysail, and spinnaker, allowing the new owner to immediately enjoy carefree sailing.
Below deck, too, the "Bolle Babbe" exudes atmosphere and craftsmanship. The interior is finished in warm mahogany and offers a classic, cozy ambiance that perfectly complements the character of the ship. The saloon features comfortable sofas and a practical table, while the forward cabin offers sleeping accommodation for two people. Furthermore, the ship is equipped with a galley featuring a two-burner gas stove, a manual toilet, hot water, and Webasto forced-air heating. The generous headroom of approximately 1,85 meters contributes to the comfort on board.
Propulsion is provided by a high-performance and economical 27 hp Volvo Penta MD2030 diesel engine. This power source is known for its reliability and offers ample power for maneuvering in harbors and comfortable motoring. The starter battery was replaced in 2025. Additionally, the vessel is equipped with shore power, a battery charger, a VHF radio, a Raymarine log, and a depth sounder, among other features.
The "Bolle Babbe" is in well-maintained condition and offers an excellent basis for the traditional sailing enthusiast. As with many classic vessels, there are a few points of attention that the future owner can optimize according to their own wishes, but the ship presents itself as a particularly charming and complete Vollenhoven Bol with a beautiful appearance.
