Why sell your ship through Schepenkring
Selling your boat can be a difficult and emotional affair. To find the right buyer, to arrange the viewings, to help the buyer with all his (technical) questions and matters such as registrations and transport. To help you sell your ship, Schepenkring is the right place for you.
Dutch Association of Ship Brokers
At Schepenkring, all brokers are members of the NBMS (Dutch Association of Brokers in Ships) and HISWA. To be a member of the association, a range of requirements must be met, varying from education and experience to behavior. In order to remain a member, we are continuously involved in education and development. This way, you can be sure that our knowledge remains up-to-date and that we are aware of current developments and regulations.

First, we would like to make an appointment with you at one of our locations or, if possible, on board your ship. So that the broker gets an idea of your ship and we can calmly discuss the strategy, sales price, working method and brokerage.
berth
Many of the locations have their own sales marina, both in the water and on dry land. We prefer that we have your ship close to our office so that potential buyers can quickly and easily compare and view your ship and others. In this way, your privacy is guaranteed and the potential buyer can view your ship under our supervision when it suits the buyer. This way we can easily and quickly sell your ship.
The presentation of the ship is central to the sale. The yacht broker will make attractive photos for you and the broker will give you tips on how to best furnish the ship. You will make the inventory of your ship together with the broker, after which the broker can present your ship online.
Advertise
Through our collaboration between Schepenkring brokers and a joint website, we can sell your ship and market it as widely as possible. We advertise on many websites and magazines, which means your ship will receive international attention. There is an extensive Google and social media campaign to send as many visitors to your boat as possible. The website is optimized for potential buyers with a simple and efficient search function, making it easy to select the ships that interest them. Through the trilingual website, we also focus on foreign customers. In addition, we have a mobile website and make extensive use of QR codes in our sales presentations.

Viewings
Your broker answers questions potential buyers may have prior to their visit via email and telephone. As soon as the viewer is interested, he will make an appointment for a viewing. During this viewing, the broker takes the time to show the potential buyer your ship and answer questions.
When the buyer is interested, the broker will mediate with the bids between both parties. As soon as an agreement has been reached, the contracts are drawn up, the test run and any inspection dates are agreed. The broker will prepare the ship for the test run and make the test run for you. You do not have to be present as a seller, but the buyer often finds it pleasant.
Financial settlement
Once everything has gone well during the sea trial, the broker will take care of the financial settlement. And help the buyers on their way with their new ship.
