Dutch Association of Yacht brokers in Ships
At Schepenkring, all yacht brokers are members of the NBMS (Dutch Association of Yacht brokers in Ships) and HISWA. To be a member of the association, a range of requirements must be met, varying from training and experience to conduct. To remain a member, we continuously participate in training and development. This way you can be sure that our knowledge remains up-to-date and that we are aware of current developments and rules.

First, we would like to make an appointment with you at one of our branches or, if possible, on board your ship. This way, the yacht broker gets an idea of your ship and we can calmly discuss the strategy, selling price, working method, and commission.
Berth
Many of the branches have their own sales harbor, both in the water and on dry land. Our preference is to have your ship close to our office so that potential buyers can quickly and easily compare and view your ship and others. This way, it safeguards your privacy and the potential buyer can view your ship under our guidance when it suits them. This allows us to sell your ship easily and quickly.
When selling, the presentation of the ship is key. The yacht broker will take attractive photos for you and the yacht broker will give you tips on how to best furnish the ship. You will draw up the inventory of your ship together with the yacht broker, after which the yacht broker can present your ship online.
Advertising
Through our collaboration between the Schepenkring yacht brokers and a joint website, we can sell your ship and market it as broadly as possible. We advertise on many websites and magazines, bringing your ship to international attention. An extensive Google and social media campaign is running to drive as much traffic to your boat as possible. The website is optimized for potential buyers with a simple and efficient search function, making it easy to select the ships of interest. Through the trilingual website, we also target foreign customers. In addition, we have a mobile website and make extensive use of QR codes in our sales presentations.
Viewings
Your yacht broker answers questions from potential buyers that they may have in advance of their visit via email and telephone. As soon as the viewer is interested, they will make an appointment for a viewing. During this viewing, the yacht broker will take ample time to show the potential buyer your ship and answer their questions.
When the buyer is interested, the yacht broker will mediate the bids between both parties. As soon as an agreement is reached, the contracts will be drawn up, and the sea trial and any inspection dates will be agreed upon. The yacht broker will prepare the ship for the sea trial and conduct the sea trial for you. You, as the seller, do not need to be present, however, buyers often find it pleasant.
Financial settlement
As soon as everything has gone well during the sea trial, the yacht broker will take care of the financial settlement. And help the buyers on their way with their new ship.
