More information about the ORCA 38

Do you dream of a long sailing trip, distant destinations and ultimate freedom on the water? The ORCA 38 'Dutchman' is a characterful, seaworthy sailing yacht for the adventurous sailor who wants to look beyond the horizon.

This unique ship, designed by William Atkin, combines a classic appearance with a solid long keel hull and excellent sailing characteristics. The current and previous owners have put a lot of love and attention into the 'Dutchman'. Along the way, the ship regularly attracts attention and receives plenty of compliments.

A ship with ambitions for long distances

With her overall length of 13 meters, stable long-keel construction and practical layout, the ORCA 38 forms an interesting basis for a longer world trip. On board you will find three cabins, no less than seven berths and a warm, classic interior with American hardwood. The headroom of approximately 1.96 meters contributes to comfort during longer stays on board.

The 'Dutchman' also offers interesting facilities in terms of self-sufficiency. The water supply of 270 liters, fuel capacity of 200 liters, wind vane steering system and available electrical provisions form a good basis for longer trips. In addition, a Schenker Smart 30 watermaker from 2018 is available as an option.

The reliable Nanni 4-cylinder 43 hp diesel engine from 1993 provides the engine propulsion. The propeller shaft installation was completely renewed in 2021. Thanks to the present autopilot and the Aries wind vane steering system, the ship also has various options for steering during longer voyages.

A world trip starts with the right foundation

The ORCA 38 'Dutchman' is not an average sailing yacht, but a ship with character, history and possibilities. After completion of the deck work, she offers a promising basis for a new owner with plans for long sailing trips, distant destinations and perhaps even a trip around the world.

Are you looking for a quirky, seaworthy ship that invites you to cast off and sail towards adventure? Then this ORCA 38 is definitely worth discovering.
