More information about the Trintel 2a
This Trintel 2A is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and best-maintained examples we have ever had for sale. Over the past 30 years, the ship has been maintained and improved with exceptional care, with virtually all work documented.
In the late 1990s, the ship underwent an extensive refit. The hull and superstructure were addressed, the deck renewed with a steel base and new teak deck, and the cockpit, hatches, and various wooden components were also renewed. In 2001, a reliable Yanmar 27 hp diesel engine was installed. Additionally, the ship features a wooden Brasker mast (2000), Furlex roller furling system, recent sails, AIS, Raymarine chart plotter, solar panels, Victron electronics, and a Wallas heater from 2022.
The original mahogany interior has been beautifully preserved and gives the ship the warm appearance that is so characteristic of a classic Van de Stadt.
A Trintel 2A with this maintenance history, documentation, and condition rarely comes onto the market. A unique opportunity for the enthusiast of classic quality.
0 Hull and superstructure sandblasted 1997/1998 - 2002. Teak deck on plywood base removed 1997/1998.
New stainless steel gunwale 1997/1998 and 4 mm steel as deck. New knobbed moulding. Sections of bulwark replaced. Teak deck over that. New aft deck hatch coaming. New wooden forward cabin hatch.
1997/1998 hull and cabin puttied and painted with De IJssel Double Coat (DC 839). Original windows reinstalled with new rubber insulation. Mahogany cockpit replaced with teak cockpit. Steel hatches replaced with wooden ones and new teak cockpit benches. New anchor winch. Aft: port and starboard stainless steel bollards on gunwale. Bow: 1 large stainless steel midship bollard.
1999-2000 - 2 plastic water tanks (100 liters each) installed in place of the original iron ones. Anchor roller and anchor moved forward (were lying on deck). 50 meters of anchor chain. Interior ceilings (partially) renewed. Shipyards involved in maintenance of La Touche

New 2001 2 burner(s) gas (no gas certificate available) Wallas 2000 T paraffin hot air heater – 12V/ 2021-2022. Purchased 12/2021 in the Netherlands via Dekker Watersport. Installed 05/2022 at Kalmar Marine, Kalmar, Eastern Sweden.Mattresses 1999: new mattresses in the forepeak and cabin benches. Likewise, new upholstery. Unchanged since then.
Deck through-hull fittings sealed. Scavenging holes in bulwark (1998-2002). WC through-hull fittings renewed – 2006. Cockpit through-hull fittings renewed – 2016. New ball valves, 2024 - new shut-off valve for engine water cooling.
Engine and electrics
The boat is equipped with a plastic fuel tank of approximately 80 liters, installed in 2002. In 2014, the tank was cleaned and modified for easier maintenance and inspection.
