More information about the Barkas Buchliner 8.50
The Barkas Buchliner 8.50 is a robust and solidly built steel motor yacht, designed by engineer L.M. Huitema. A special ship with surprisingly much space and, above all, a very large cruising area. Thanks to its shallow draft of only 0.62 meters and an air draft of approximately 1.68 meters, many smaller waterways and low bridges are also accessible.
The spacious open cockpit is close to the water and connects with just one step to the almost level cabin. Inside, the beautiful teak interior immediately stands out. The salon has almost 2 meters of headroom and features a cozy seating area, galley, and inside steering. Next to the helm and in front of the dinette, there is a second, very practical cabinet with three shelves on the starboard side.
Forward there is a separate cabin with two fixed berths, toilet compartment and wardrobe. The dinette can be used as a third berth.
The Barkas features both inside and outside steering. The Vetus 42 hp four-cylinder diesel engine has approximately 1,891 operating hours. Thanks to the bow thruster and stern thruster, the ship is exceptionally easy to maneuver.
The ship is also fully equipped. The upholstery was renewed in 2019, and two new 120 Ah batteries were installed in 2025. Furthermore, heating, a 50-liter boiler, refrigerator, solar panels, and shore power are present.
A charming and practical Barkas for those who want to sail comfortably, seek ample interior space, and at the same time desire a manageable ship that can reach almost all of the Netherlands.
