Numerous tests of the Fox 22 conducted by various boating magazines have also shown the boat to be an exceptionally stable and comfortable sailboat. Its stability and handling, in particular, make it stand out compared to other yachts of the same length. The Fox 22's no-nonsense character, solid construction, and very simple maintenance requirements are also particularly noteworthy. The long waterline, wide stern, and relatively low weight ensure that the Fox 22's hull has very low water resistance. Combined with the modern 7/8 rig, the result is a sporty sailing yacht that "takes off" in the slightest breeze and responds very directly to rudder and sail trim. (The sailing tests are published in the magazines "Zeilen," "Watersport," "Yacht," and "Yacht Vision").
The Fox 22 also has a lot to offer below deck. The cabin offers room for four adults and is furnished with four comfortable, well-padded beds. The Fox 22's concept is: ample space on deck, in the cockpit and cabin. Its equipment is sparse, with minimal bells and whistles in the cabin, and it's designed to utilize shore-based facilities. On the other hand, maintenance and management of the Fox require minimal time, and the boat is always ready to sail. Of course, the equipment can be expanded with a variety of options, but many Fox sailors find this unnecessary.
