The Contest 38S is known as a true 'blue water cruiser'. Thanks to its deep and sheltered midship cockpit (center cockpit) and solid Polyester construction, this ship offers maximum comfort and safety, even under the most challenging conditions at sea.

Engine & Electrics Up-to-date and Reliable

While many ships from this year of construction still have their original engine, the "Blabber" was equipped in 2007 with a powerful and extremely reliable 55 hp Volvo Penta D2-55E diesel engine (indirectly cooled, fixed propeller shaft).

Windpilot a mechanical wind vane steering system that steers your sailing yacht into the wind. The biggest advantage is that the system works completely without power, which relieves your batteries. The harder it blows, the more steering power the vane provides. It holds the course without you having to steer yourself. Ideal for longer trips.

Rigging & Extras

The ship is sloop-rigged with a solid Selden mast and stainless steel wire rigging (replaced in 2012). The sail wardrobe consists of

Extra point of attention The teak deck shows clear wear (among other things, thinned teak and locally detached parts) and needs to be restored. This is a known point of attention of the boat and has been incorporated into the asking price.
