The Contest 38S is known as a true 'blue water cruiser'. Thanks to the deep and sheltered center cockpit and solid polyester construction, this vessel offers maximum comfort and safety, even under the most challenging conditions at sea.

While many ships from this year still have their original engine, the "Blabber" was fitted with a powerful and extremely reliable one in 2007. 55 hp Volvo Penta D2-55E diesel engine (indirectly cooled, fixed propeller shaft).
The electrical system is also excellently prepared for long-term autonomous travel.

Windpilot A mechanical wind vane steering system that steers your sailboat into the wind. The biggest advantage is that the system operates completely without electricity, relieving the strain on your batteries. The harder the wind blows, the more steering power the vane provides. It holds the course without requiring you to steer yourself. Ideal for longer trips.

The ship is sloop-rigged with a solid Selden mast and stainless steel wire rigging. The sail wardrobe consists of

Additional point of attention The teak deck shows clear wear (including thinned teak and locally loose sections) and requires restoration. This is a known issue with the boat and has been factored into the asking price.
