Van Rijnsoever Vollenhovense Bol "Bolle Babbe" – A timeless classic with character
For lovers of traditional Dutch sailing yachts, we proudly present this beautiful Van Rijnsoever Vollenhovense Bol "Bolle Babbe". This special ship was built in 2003 and is one of the last Vollenhovense Bollen delivered by the renowned Van Rijnsoever shipyard. With her classic lines, warm appearance and high-quality finish, she forms a unique combination of authentic craftsmanship and modern sailing comfort.
With a length of 8.50 meters, a width of 3.10 meters and a shallow draft of only 0.75 meters, this Vollenhovense Bol is extremely suitable for exploring the Dutch and Belgian inland waterways, the Wadden Sea, the Zeeland waters and other shallow sailing areas. Thanks to the leeboards and flat bottom, the ship has excellent drying out capabilities while retaining the characteristic sailing properties for which this type of ship is so popular.
On deck, the classic appearance is immediately noticeable. The combination of the black painted hull, the red superstructure and the warm wooden accents creates a particularly beautiful and traditional whole. The wooden mast with gaff rigging and the dark sails enhance the authentic character of the ship. The sail wardrobe was also renewed in 2023 with a new mainsail, storm jib, jib and halfwinder, so that the new owner can immediately enjoy sailing carefree.
Below deck, the "Bolle Babbe" also exudes atmosphere and craftsmanship. The interior is finished in warm mahogany and offers a classic, cozy ambiance that perfectly matches the character of the ship. The saloon features comfortable settees and a practical table, while the forward cabin offers sleeping accommodation for two people. Furthermore, the ship has a galley with a two-burner gas stove, a manual toilet, hot water, and a Webasto hot air heater. The generous headroom of approximately 1.85 meters contributes to the comfort on board.
Propulsion is provided by a powerful and economical Volvo Penta MD2030 diesel engine of 27 hp. This power source is known for its reliability and offers ample power for maneuvers in harbors and comfortable motoring. The starter battery was renewed in 2025. In addition, the ship is equipped with shore power, battery charger, VHF radio, Raymarine log, and depth sounder.
The "Bolle Babbe" is in a well-maintained condition and offers an excellent basis for the enthusiast of traditional sailing. As with many classic ships, there are some points of attention that the future owner can optimize to their own wishes, but the ship presents itself as a particularly charming and complete Vollenhovense Bol with a beautiful appearance.
