J/105 – DJ

De J / 105 is a particularly successful combination of speed, sailing comfort, and ease of use. This is due to Rod Johnstone designed sailing yacht It was developed as a performance cruiser that sails excellently with family and friends as well as with a smaller crew. The J/105 is known for its direct steering, good performance, and simple, efficient rigging. Furthermore, thanks to the combination of a stable hull, deep fin keel with bulb, and relatively low displacement, it offers a great deal of confidence during sporty sailing and longer trips.

This J/105 DJBuilt in 2006 by TPI France, the J/105 has a length of 10,51 meters, a beam of 3,35 meters, and a draft of 1,98 meters. With its CE Category A and capacity for eight people, it is suitable for both sport sailing and offshore use. The large and uncluttered cockpit, the helm, and the efficient deck layout make the J/105 easy to operate, while the design comes into its own during racing and longer sailing trips.

There is a on board Volvo Penta D1-20 diesel engine of 20 hp, coupled to a propeller shaft with a two-bladed folding propeller. The engine is supported by two batteries, a battery charger, an alternator, and shore power. For navigation and communication, the J/105 is equipped with, among other things, Raymarine ST60 log, depth sounder and wind meter, a Raymarine S1 autopilot, Garmin GPS and an iCOM VHF radio. 

The sailing equipment also makes this J/105 interesting for the sporty sailor. The fractional rig is equipped with an aluminium mast and in total seven sails, including one Winning Sails mainsail from 2022, various Hagoort headsails and multiple asymmetrical spinnakers for optimal performance on broad reaches. The combination of the J/105 hull, the fractional rig, and the asymmetrical spinnaker makes it possible to achieve high performance with a relatively small crew.

Downstairs, the J/105 offers a sporty and light interior with four fixed sleeping places and two extra sleeping places, a practical galley, manual toilet, 100-liter water tank, and Webasto hot air heating. This makes her not only an attractive racing boat but also suitable for relaxed weekend trips and short holidays.
