Bavaria 40-3 for sale – “Lucky” – 2001 – CE category A
Bavaria 40-3 sailing yacht from 2001, with three cabins, six fixed berths and CE category A. Well maintained, fully equipped and ready for new sailing adventures.
This Bavaria 40-3 “Lucky” is a spacious and comfortable sailing yacht, designed by J&J Design and built by Bavaria Yachtbau. With a length of 12.47 meters, a width of 3.96 meters and a draft of 1.65 meters this popular Bavaria model offers a nice combination of sailing characteristics, comfort and living space. The CE Design Category A (Ocean) makes her suitable for long sea voyages and open water.
On board you will find a classic mahogany interior, a spacious saloon with a round seating area and three cabins with a total of six fixed berths. The headroom is approximately 1.95 meters. The practical galley is equipped with a two-burner gas stove, oven and an Isotherm refrigerator from 2020. With two toilets, an indoor shower and an outdoor shower, the comfort on board is excellent for longer stays.
Propulsion is provided by a Volvo Penta MD2030 29 hp diesel engine with Saildrive. The engine has a cruising speed of approximately 6.5 knots. The Saildrive cuff was replaced in 2018 and the Gori folding propeller is from 2022. The last major engine maintenance took place in 2025. The boat is also equipped with an electric bow thruster from 2014, which significantly facilitates maneuvering in harbors.
For navigation, “Lucky” has extensive Raymarine equipment, including ST60 log, depth sounder and wind meter, a Raymarine E7 chartplotter, Raymarine ST6001 autopilot and a Raymarine 650 AIS transponder. The VHF radio was updated in 2024 and can also be operated from the cockpit.
The Bavaria is also well equipped in terms of sails. The fully battened mainsail was renewed in 2025 and there is a 135% genoa with Furlex furling system. In addition, a Carbon spinnaker pole from 2024 is present.
The ship has been owned by the current owner since 2017 and has been in, among other places, The Netherlands, Belgium and the south-south-western part of the United Kingdom dangers. It is ashore annually and in May 2026 it was again provided with antifouling and new anodes. Extensive maintenance history available with various maintenance invoices.
