Verder vallen vooral het no-nonsense karakter, de degelijke constructie en de zeer eenvoudige onderhoudseisen van de Fox 22 op. De lange waterlijn, het brede achterschip en het relatief lage gewicht zorgen ervoor dat de romp van de Fox 22 een zeer lage waterweerstand heeft. In combinatie met het moderne 7/8 tuigage ontstaat er een sportief zeiljacht die bij het kleinste briesje al “start” en heel direct reageert op het roer en het trimmen van de zeilen. (De zeiltests staan in de tijdschriften “Zeilen, “Watersport”, “Yacht” & “Yacht Vision”.
